Who do you think is telling the truth here? My money's on the cat Magnus, you know he's taking the blame for this spooky girl.
I loved this image right away - she looks creepy to me and I don't know why. What do you think?
I printed the digital stamp on Neenah paper and coloured the image with copic markers. There was a lot of white space so I tried (and it worked) to create shading with distress ink.
There is a bit of dimension here with the image and the spooky embellishment popped up (technical term).
digital stamp: Stamp Loft (Etsy)
image colour: copics
shading: distress ink
paper: Recollections "Haunted Manor"
Oh Karen, I love your card! This hop is so inspiring - I must check out the stamp loft, that image is so cute! Great layout and love the 'spooky' too! x
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen, I went back to check and it looks like Stamp Loft is no longer on Etsy.
DeleteI was gonna get technical and use that term too! But that delightful shading made her POP! What is neenah paper? I keep running across the term and don't know what it is. Love raising the word spooky too. Made it...wait for it......POP! hehe Love this so much!
ReplyDeleteNeenah is a brand of paper suitable or expressly made for use with copic markers. There are a few others (Xpress it) but this is my favourite. The paper can withstand the amount of liquid ink without pilling, or tearing allowing for blending.
DeleteLove your card and image especially the kitty!
ReplyDeleteLoving your project... you are going to give updates on the graves aren't you? I too only use neenah with my promarkers. Your image certainly looks like she knows something... maybe the cat's got her tongue?

I love the border I am so going to use this some time. Lovely background
ReplyDeleteOh that cat has a story to tell!
ReplyDeleteAnd how her eyes are looking up all wide and innocent...
OMG, PRECIOUS! Love, love, LOVE that stamp! BooHoo that The Stamp Loft is no longer on Etsy. I WANT it SOOO BAAAD! FAbulous coloring and love the torn corner. xxD
ReplyDeleteFabulously creepy card, I adore that image. Wonderful creation :)
ReplyDeleteThat little girl and cat are DEFINITELY creepy! The cat reminds me of Mogget (except of course Mogget is white), the magical cat in the Abhorsen series of books by Garth Nix.
ReplyDeleteI adore her, she's totally creepy and the cat just kills me! Gotta have this image!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your project! She is definitely holding the kitty to prevent more mayhem! Gorgeous layering and coloring! Thanks~kim
ReplyDeleteFantastic card. Love your coloring.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely creepy! Love your project!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. Great colors
ReplyDeleteAwesome card and coloring of the image.
ReplyDeleteI totally love this image. Yes. I don't think that cute kitty would dig up bones. That sounds like doggie work...or a mischevious little girl.
ReplyDeleteOnce again, love the post! ( am going backwards from day 6) You are so funny!!! She looks creepy to be because of her stare and because she has an alien look to her. That head shape I think.
